Rhodiola rosea is a native British sedum, found in well-drained rocky situations, particularly mountains and cliff tops. For thousands of years it was used in medicine to increase stamina and tolerance of cold, and is reputed to have healing properties for the skin.

Rhodiola rosea bears fleshy, mid-green leaves and yellow flowers. It's ideal for growing in a rock garden in sun and well-drained soil.
